Principal’s Profile

Prof. (Dr.) Brijesh Kumar N. Singh is the Principal of Thakur Specialized Degree College under Zagdu Singh Charitable Trust. He is an accomplished academic leader, senior educator, and researcher with over 37 years of teaching and administrative experience in higher education. Before joining the institution, he served as Professor and Ex–Vice Principal (Science) at Jai Hind College.

He holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from University of Mumbai, with specialization in heterocyclic synthesis, green chemistry, and synthetic organic chemistry. He is a recognized postgraduate teacher, research guide, and has published 17 research papers in reputed national and international journals, besides contributing chapters to edited academic volumes.

Prof. Dr. Singh has served on several Boards of Studies, academic committees, and quality initiatives across leading colleges in Mumbai. His academic leadership includes active roles in curriculum development, research promotion, student discipline, institutional governance, and quality assurance.

He has also contributed significantly to student development through leadership of committees such as Gymkhana, Ragging Prohibition, Admissions, and Alumni Affairs, and has organized several intercollegiate academic and sports activities.

His vision is to promote academic excellence, innovation, ethical values, research culture, and holistic development, in alignment with emerging national educational priorities.
