Dear Patrons welcome to Thakur Specialized Degree College Library. The library has been active since the college’s beginning in 2023, and it is spread across 144.13.sqm of space with a well-designed architect and interior environment to encourage our patrons to study for longer periods of time and concentrate wholeheartedly.

The library is well-equipped with an extensive range of text books, general books and reference materials, serving as one of the key components for students’ overall lifelong development. It supports in satisfying the curriculum demands of the faculty by offering study facilities, educational and recreational reading. Digital library is well-equipped with latest infrastructure of computers & CDs. Students and faculty members can access online materials through a variety of E-resource platforms, including NDLI, E-Pg Pathshala, Swayam and NPTEL portal.

TIMING OF THE LIBRARY

Library is open between 8.30 A.M. to 5.30 P.M.
Library will remain closed on Sundays & Public Holidays.

OPEN EDUCATIONAL E- RESOURCES

Online Learning Initiative by IITs and IISc.

SWAYAM platform facilitates hosting of all the courses, taught in classrooms from Class 9 till post- graduation to be accessed by anyone, anywhere at any time. All the courses are interactive, prepared by the best teachers in the country and are available, free of cost to any learner. More than 1,000 specially chosen faculty and teachers from across the country have participated in preparing these courses.

E-PG Pathshala hosts high quality, curriculum-based, interactive e-content containing 23,000 modules (e-text and video) in 70 Post Graduate disciplines of social sciences, arts, fine arts and humanities, natural & mathematical sciences.
National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT).

DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) is a community-curated online directory that indexes and provides access to high quality, open access, peer-reviewed journals.

DOAB (Directory of Open Access Books) is a community-driven discovery service that indexes and provides access to scholarly, peer- reviewed open access books and helps users to find trusted open access book publishers. All DOAB services are free of charge and all data is freely available.

The SWAYAM PRABHA is a group of 34 DTH channels devoted to telecasting of high-quality educational programmes on 24X7 basis using the GSAT-15 satellite. Every day, there will be new content for at least (4) hours which would be repeated 5 more times in a day, allowing the students to choose the time of their convenience. The channels are uplinkeded from BISAG, Gandhinagar. The contents are provided by NPTEL, IITs, UGC, CEC, IGNOU. The INFLIBNET Centre maintains the web portal.
NISCAIR ONLINE PERIODICALS REPOSITORY: You can now access full text articles from research journals published by CSIR-NIScPR! Full text facility is provided for all nineteen research journals viz. ALIS, AIR, BVAAP, IJBB, IJBT, IJCA, IJCB, IJCT, IJEB, IJEMS, IJFTR, IJMS, IJNPR, IJPAP, IJRSP, IJTK, JIPR, JSIR & JST. NOPR also hosts three Popular Science Magazines viz. Science Reporter (SR), Vigyan Pragati (VP) & Science Ki Duniya (SKD) and a Natural Products Repository (NPARR).
The main objective of promoting the progress and upholding the cause of science. publishes 10 science journals in different disciplines, uses an online submission and review management system that’s trackable, papers are peer reviewed and published content is made available online and open access.

The objectives of library committees are as follows
• To formulate action plane for the development of library infrastructure, facilities, and services.
• To work towards the modernization and improvement of library and documentation services.
• To formulate policies and procedure for efficient use of library resources.
• Make provision for sufficient funds for procurement of documents, employment of staff, purchase of equipment, maintenance of building etc.

LIBRARY RULES

GENERAL RULES
1. Strict Silence and discipline should be maintained in the library.
2. Every student must wear his/her valid identity card/library card at the entrance of the library and reading room.
3. If any help is required, student should approach the librarian.
4. Use the library books and furniture very carefully.
5. Eatables are not allowed in the library.
6. Talking and Group Discussion is not permitted in the library.
7. Books should be returned whenever demanded by the library staff.
8. In case of theft/ loss of Library Card, inform it to the Librarian in writing at the earliest by paying a fee of Rs 100/- for the duplicate card.
9. All Light & Fans Should be Switched off when not required in the library.
10. While taking NOC from library, students are required to submit their library cards to the Circulation counter.

CIRCULATION RULES
1. Student is responsible for the books borrowed against his/her card.
2. Maximum Two Books are allowed for home issue for 7 days on library card.
3. Three times of renewal will be provided.
4. Renewal of the books will depend upon the demand for the same.

PENALTY RULES
1. Rs 5.00 per day, per book will be charged after 7 days.
2. If mutilated or lost, the borrower will have to replace the book with a new copy or pay the amount of the current price along with the overdue charges if any.
